Saturday, 25 April 2020 10:58Dear customers, potential and current, as well as visitors to our site,
we would like to provide you with news regarding the coronovirus pandemic in Greece. Many of you have contacted us lately, concerned about the tourist season.
The spread of the virus in Greece is steadily declining, which encourages us all, and the government has decided to ease isolation measures for its citizens, but also for tourists who certainly cannot wait for this summer's season.
What we know for now is that from 27.4. start gradually opening some essential institutions in Greece as well as some small business shops and stores. During the May (and towards June), shopping malls, cafes and some restaurants will be gradually opened. From June 15, the borders for entry of foreign nationals should be gradually opened. Given that the influx of visitors from abroad is considered dangerous, experts here recommend traveling in accordance with strict rules and care. For example, the Minister of Tourism, Mr Haris Teocharis, discovers that tourists should come to Greece with a so-called "health passport". The EU should be consulted in order to give every European citizen who wants to travel a reliable coronovirus test. A citizen would take the test in his own country and then upon arrival in Greece. The Minister also stated that all hotel accommodations would have certain health care measures as well as beaches, bars and restaurants.
This is the latest news for now.
We will do our best to keep you up-to-date with all the news related to tourism and stay in Greece.
